Bio Sketch

Dr. David Nicolle is a Professor in the Departments of Ophthalmology and Clinical Neurological Sciences at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Nicolle is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with specialty certification in Ophthalmology (1980) and he is presently licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario. Most of his time is spent in the subspecialty of Neuro-ophthalmology which he has been doing continuously for the past 36 years, 13 years at the University of McGill, Montreal, Quebec, and for the past 23 years here at Western University in London. Dr. Nicolle retired from his clinic practice June 30, 20115.

Dr. Nicolle is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh,
U.K.(FRCS Ed), a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and did
his Fellowship training in Neuro-ophthalmology in Philadelphia, USA.

Dr. Nicolle has a large number of pituitary patients and has followed over 500 of them over the past 20 years here at Western University. Dr. Nicolle has been interested in visual pathway research with Dr. Mel Goodale for the past 20 years.

Dr. Nicolle has received the Teaching Award of Excellence in Continuing Medical Education, and has held numerous offices, one of which was the Chair, Examiner in Ophthalmology at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
